We were told to bring our thermometers tomrorrow, because of the swine flu outbreak that started in Mexico.
How does a flu virus in a country as far away as Mexico affect us in our little island?
Well, many people come in and out of Singapore each day from all around the world. If one person is infected, it would not take long for the virus to spead as there are many people in Singapore who stay and work very close to each other.
From today's Straits Times, we read that the swine flu outbreak is even more serious than the SARS outbreak. Although we were only in Nursery in 2003 when SARS broke out, our teacher told us that it was a frightening time for many people. When we listened to her stories of how some doctors and nurses said goodbye to their familes before heading to work without knowing whether it would be the last time they would see them, our class was silent.
It was scary to read on Page 1 of today's newspapers (28/4/2009) that experts think that the swine flu is 10 times worse than SARS, because it is spread without symptoms.
What can we do now?
From Page 3, there are 5 things that we can do:
1. Cover your nose and ears when coughing or sneezing
2. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water
3. Wear a mask that covers your nose or mouth if you are taking care of someone with flu-like symptoms
4. Avoid visting patients in hospitals because you might pass a flu to them,
5. Stay at home if you have the flu, and wear a mask if you need to go out.
And for us in CCPS, we need to

Hope it does not affect Singapore!
Or we would be sick and may need to wear those masks which are unconfortable to school ...
Please dont affect singapore if not all the singaporean might die of swine flu ... But singaporean also must not go in and out to other country and spread it out ...
Well I hope those people who come in and out of Singapore does not get the flu virus,or else in Singapore many people will be infected.
In my opinion I think that people
should maintain a high level of perosnal hygiene.
Luckily singapore do not have influenza A and i hope still do not affect the influenza .
I hope the colour code for singapore don't go to orange or red or black. if it go to black , we will have to stop school and stay at home. than like that, we will have no friends to play with and study with. for the P6, will have to take our psle other day and we will have to wait longer to take our exam. The swine flu(H1N1)causes us to bring therrmometer to school everyday. The swine flu came from mexico and it slowly spread to other country like,Hong kong,china,etc......
The swine flu is 10times worse than sars.It is spread without symptoms. So next time you will have to cover your noseand ears when coughing or sneezing....wash our hands frequently with soap and water.....if you have fever or flu, stay at home and make sure you have to wear mask.
I hope that swine flu does not harm Singapore! If swine flu is in Singapore,we would have to wear mask which is uncomfortable for us and will have to take our tempuratures daily.
It is sooo irritating!!!!! Just because of Swine Flu , my mother does not allow me to go back to my hometown!
do u know that swine flu already came to singapore?
do u know that swine flu has already came to singapore
do u know that swine flu has already came to singapore
The colour code has went down already to yellow and now singapore has 12 cases on the influenza A.I hope i will not be the one of them. Now we better wear mask .
Now is school holiday some people still dare to go to other country
for their holiday.More and more people having influenza A all of them are from other country come back and all of them are singaporean. I think some went to study and some went for holiday.
lucky now they have the medicine to cure the influenza A.Those who have the influenza A will have to stay at Tan Tock Seng hospital in a corner called the communicable dieases centre.
The medicine will take about one week to cure the person.
Now most of the places have to take their temperature daily and it is also very troublesome especially the changi aiport where people go in and out of the country. Now the Changi Airport have the scanner to see who have the fever. The last person that has the influenza A pass through the scanner and found that he has fever so they immediately sent him for check up and found that he has influenza A and so he has to stay at the Tan Tock Seng communicable dieases centre.
The another 11 cases has to pass through the scanner but the scanner did not say that they have fever than after a few days the symtoms came and so they have to stay in the Tan Tock Seng communicable dieases centre.
That why we have to take our temperature daily although it is troublesome but it is good for us.Any one who has (H1N1)has to quickly go to the hospitial and if you really have the symtoms you have to stay in the Tan Tock Seng communicable dieases centre.Other places like France, brazil, germany, turkey, india, Africa and .......
SO take care of yuorself....
