There is an article in the 8 March issue of LRD on the increase in the percentage of people taking the MRT. According to a population census conducted by the Department of Statistics, MRT travel has risen sharply.
The percentage of people who go to work by taking the MRT or a combination of other modes rose from 23.6 in 2000 to 31.2 in 2010. The increase in train commutes has resulted in a decrease in bus commutes.
Work trips by car increased by only 1.1 percentage points despite a 50 per cent increase in car population.

1) The MRT because it is fast and inside there is air conditioner.
2)When i take the bus on a rainy day,the bus will be very slow and i may be late for school.
1) I enjoy taking the MRT because the stations are clean and air conditioned, the trains are efficient and quick. I have gone on the trains in Tokyo and I realised how clean and new the trains in Singapore are.
2) Buses are sometimes infrequent and people on the MRT and Bus are usually rude and do not hesitate to push and shove especially during the rush hour. Sometimes, people refuse to make way or block the exits. I think that Singapore should have more Kindness campaigns like the recent "Love Your Ride" campaign to encourage people to be courteous while taking public transport.

Q1)Airplane. Because I like travelling to other countries
Q2)Sometimes people eat on the bus so the strong oily smell released is annoying.
I love the MRT because the MRT is faster than any other transport and the MRT can reach places quickly and it has air conditioner. I think the MRT would be better if they could allow people to eat and drink only in the first and last carriages.

It is good that people actually use public transport. It saves the Earth. But kills car companies.

1. MRT, because it is efficient and air-conditioned. It also reduces the travel time, allowing us to reach our destination quickly.
2. Public transport may be too crowded during peak hours, weekends and public holidays.

My favourite mode of transport is double-decker buses as I could rest for a long time and it's my first time riding a double-decker bus in Singapore. My problems are some buses took long to arrive and there not enough seats.
I prefer taking a car to public transport because I can arrive to my destination faster than taking public transport. Some public transportations are slower than others, causing the passengers to arrive to their destination slower.
It is actually very good that people use public transport. It saves the earth and save the cars from traffic jams.
My favourite transport is MRT because there is no traffic jam that would let us be late. But there are pros and cons to everything. The MRT has not enough seats to contain all the commuters. Many People have to stand up.
I like the MRT because it is fast and efficient and also convenient for people to take. But sometimes the MRT train is very crowded and we have to squeeze or have to wait for another train.
I prefer helicopter than any other transport because it can fly and take me places far away from Singapore like Antartica.... Cross finger, hope that other coutries won't bomb or mistaken me for a terrorist.
I like MRT as it is very convinient and is available everywhere .
