Killer Waves! by 6 Charity

Today we read an article on the Japanese tsunami and these are some of our reflections:

- I feel that Singaporeans should not take things for granted (Vanessa)
- Some Singaporeans who were interviewed said that they could not travel anymore. This is rather selfish. (Christine)
- The relief efforts have been slow because of things are stuck in Narita airport. This is very sad. The people who are living in slums are also very pitiful because now it is worse for them. (Merissa and Taranya)
- The Japanese were really calm and they were not feeling frustrated. I think if this happened in Singapore, it would be mayhem. (Jiexin and Vanessa)

What do you think about the disaster?  Leave a comment below!

I feel very sorry for the Japanese as they must have had a hard time clearing up the debris and find their loved ones. I really cannot imagine how it would be like if this happens to Singapore.

Even though most Singaporeans are rather selfish, at least some Singaporeans donate money to Redcross and volunteer to collect donations.

I have also heard that people in Japan are stealing stuff that have to be sent to the shelters, which disrupts the food and water from being sent to the shelters.

I think it is true that if there is a disaster in Singapore, it would be mayhem. We all should learm to be calm when anything happens, because if we are not calm, it will cause more trouble...

I feel very sorry for the people of Japan. They have suffered a lot from the tsunami and now fears the nuclear crisis they may face. I really hope that the situation will be resolved soon.

I agree with Vanessa, Singaporeans should not take things for granted. We should be grateful that Singapore is safe and know how fortunate we are.
I am also touched by the many people that care.
This is one example by a Youtube user that would donate 10 dollars to Japan with every "Honk".

I felt quite depressed that there will no longer be anymore anime shows((maybe only). I think i will also donate some of my red packet money but most of it is already in my bank anyways. A lot of them are made homeless by the tsunami n the earthquake. It must have been horrifying!! The worst thing is the radiation thingy! Oh em gee. Oh well...i 'll try my best to help Japan. Good Luck, Japan! :D

I feel that more people from Singapore should be willing to help the people in Japan.Rather than being selfish they should think how the Japanese would feel and should help them. I will help them too.

I feel sorry for Japan, as there was a tsunami plus an earthquake, which was very very very unfortunate.
Families were broken up, their houses were destroyed. If it happens here, I doubt we would survive.

I think that they are very poor thing . We should really donate some money to give them , many buildings are destroyed and needed alot of money to rebuild all these buildings , ships that are used to transport goods are also drowned , they also needed alot of money to be replaced . I think that it is really sad for Japan. It use to be such a beautiful country, but now, because of this terrible disaster, it is destroyed. I feel really sad for the Japanese... *Sobs

Singapore is a very lucky country. I also agree with Vanessa that Singaporean should not take things for granted because who knows what will happen in the future.
